Maurizio Oviglia, born in Turin in 1963 but Sardinian by adoption, is one of the best known and appreciated alpinists and writers of climbing guides in Europe. He boasts over thirty years of activity on rock world-wide as alpinist, explorer and route opener. He has written many guide books and articles, and manages and collaborates on various web sites. He has successfully published for Versante Sud ‘Rock Paradise’, ‘Passaggio a Nord-Ovest’ and ‘Arrampicate sportive in Corsica’. In addition, he is chief editor of the European Climbing Report ‘UP Climbing’.
Fiorenzo Michelin, born in Villar Pellice in 1948, lives in Prarostino (province of Turin). Fond of mountaineering, he started climbing the normal routes of the peaks surrounding his hometown at seventeen, and later explored wider horizons all over the alpine range. He has opened some one hundred and fifty new routes especially in Val Chisone, Val Pellice and Val Po, concurring to their development - also in a climbing perspective - editing important topos and guidebooks.
