'Swiss Mountain Film Festival', the international mountain documentary festival, that will take place from 18th to 25th August 2012 in Pontresina, was officially born.
An important novelty for a mountain country like Switzerland, stage of some of the most amazing alpine sceneries of the world, but where there hasn't been a cinematographic festival completely dedicated to the mountain so far. The awareness of this lack led to the birth of the 'Swiss Mountain Film Festival', in order to celebrate the majesty of the mountain in all its possible declinations. In addiction to that also a Photographic Contest dedicated to the mountain as well.
And for the Festival an exceptional location: Pontresina, a pearl in the heart of Oberengadin, framed by imposing massives (the Bernina massif among others) and only a short way away from St.Moritz and its beautiful lakes.'Swiss Mountain Film Festival' is the result of an Italo-Swiss collaboration between the association Festival Internazionale del Cinema and the Municipality of Pontresina.
Saturday 25th August At 8,30 pm
Special event night with Matteo della Bordella, in cooperation with Versante Sud
Screening and comment of several videos about his climbing expeditions.
He is 28 years old and he’s one of the youngest members of the prestigious group ”Ragni di Lecco” and of the CAAI.
He travelled to England, Spain, USA and Patagonia to climb mountains and he opened new routes in Greenland, Mexico, Wenden, Sardinia and Canton Ticino. He is the author of the climbing guide Klettern in der Schweiz
