Second day at the Sanvito Climbing Festival - VIDEO
A blend of culture and climbing, muscles and brain has enriched the second day at SCF, varying from the history of climbing in San Vito, with Marco Bonamini and Alessandro Gogna remembering the first routes, to the Deep Water Soloing organized by Mauro Calibani.
At nine in the morning the climbers sailed on the catamaran towards Cala Firriato, for a day of climbing and diving - this time without jellyfishes or injuries. The E9 crew has discovered and tested a new spot, a couple of hundreds meters before Cala Firriato, which seems to be more interesting, both in terms of height and rock quality. Will it be next year DWS area? Check the video and give us your opinions.
In the evening, before the concert, an opportunity to discover the history of climbing in San Vito, thanks to Gianni Battimelli who moderated an interesting public talk with special guests. The digression started from Marco Bonamini, who setted Via delle Punte, the first route on Monte Monaco, and then unraveled with Alessandro Gogna, who was a pioneer: coming from Milano to Sicily, creating with the local climbers a masterpiece of exploration like "Mezzogiorno di Pietra" and "Lo Sballo di San Vito". The stage was then for Fabrizio Antonioli and finally for Fabrice Calabrese, who explained us the latest creative trends, developed by many climbers, like Maurizio Oviglia, who unfortunately wasn't present. Also the Titt brothers, authors of many short routes, told us their experience.
Then it was the turn of Rolando Larcher, who, with his documentary "Da Sud al Sud del mondo" related his experience from the breathtaking walls of Patagonia to the South Face of Monte Pellegrino.
The rain - unfortunately - spoiled the night, stopping the concert by Mimì Sterrantino.
Today, Tai Chi on the beach and Open Marathon, and in the evening the most awaited screening: the movie "What happened on Pam Island", presented live by the authors and climbers, Eliza Kubarska and David Kaszlikowski.
Finally, to greet the night, the exceptional "El Bahira Party", with the percussionists of "Kaos" ensemble.
