1ST WINTER ASCENT OF GROUCHO MARX (JORASSES)

The members of GMHM (Groupe Militaire de Haute Montagne) Sébastien Bohin, Dimitry Munoz and Sébastien Ratel have completed the first winter ascent (from March 11 to 14) of the route Groucho Marx on the east face of the Grandes Jorasses (800m, ED, 6b / A3).
Séb Ratel writes:
"We started from the Vallée Blanche, then the Col des Hirondelles, and there we bivouacked. The next day we climbed 3 pitches on the rampart , the 13 the rest of the shield and we slept on a ledge. On 14, after 250 meters of mixed and the Arête du Tronchey , at 12 we were on top! a magnificent route, with the mixed, poor rock and extraordinary granite"
The route Groucho Marx was opened between 13 and 15 August 1983 by Alpine Guide Cristiano and Fabio Delisi
