MESSNER TO RECEIVE CAREER PIOLET D'OR 2010

The Piolet d'Or is an annual mountaineering award assigned to climbs of high technical level and commitment.
On April 9th, in Courmayeur Italy, Italian alpinist Reinhold Messner will be honored with the second Piolet d’Or for lifetime achievement.
The prize will be given by Maurice Herzog, the alpinist who lead 60 years ago the french expedition to Annapurna.
The first career Piolet d'or was assigned last year to another italian alpinist, Walter Bonatti.
