12 Jan Spain Performances: Tomás Ravanal is the first Chilean to climb a 9a+

Again from Spain some good news! From a side, strong Austrian climber Jakob Schuber, just soma days after his Stoking the Fire 9b ascent, resolved also Catxasa at Santa Linya, adding a new 9a+ in his ranking. But it’s of course more interesting the climb of Tomás Ravanal of La Rambla at Siurana, becoming in this way the first Chilean climber able to resolve a 9a+ route. Tomás thinked to this route from 2008 where had just three years experience. After a really strange and hard year in 2017, where after a not good season in competition and a long injury, decided to buy a large van to live and moved to Spain some months. Thanks Estado Critico ascent in November, reached the 9a level and a great awareness of his possibilities till this new exploit.
