We participated in the presentation of the Spring / Summer 2019 collection, in the new MILLET headquarters in Grassobbio.
Millet has been providing clothing and technical equipment for the mountains since the 1950s. In that year Louis Lachenal and Maurice Herzog were the first men in history to reach the top of an 8000, and on their backs they carried Millet’s Annapurna backpack specially designed for that expedition.
Success launched the brand and its products first in France and then in the rest of the world. A few years later, in 1959, Walter Bonatti became Millet’s first contract technical consultant, helping to increase the quality and functionality of the equipment he was experimenting with during his prestigious ascents.
From the Fifties to today the production of jackets, trousers, soft shells, backpacks, ropes, climbing shoes and boots of the Millet brand, now part of the Millet Mountain Group, has continued uninterruptedly to the benefit of generations of mountain lovers in all its forms.
The group currently belongs to the top ten outdoor companies at European level, and aims to become one of the top five by 2021 enhancing the three complementary brands of Millet (mountaineering and verticality), Lafuma (quality accessible at low prices and special attention to environmental aspects ) and Eider (transversity, skiing in winter and mountain active in summer).
We took part in the new headquarters of Grassobbio at the presentation of the spring-summer 2019 collection. Millet capitalizes the Rise Up slogan focused on verticality through a path of collaboration with mountain experts, important investments in innovation, and in the choice of materials and methods of low impact production.
We briefly present some of the new products that seemed to us more interesting and innovative.
- SUPER TRIDENT GTX
Approach shoe for four seasons, official footwear of the “Compagnia des Guides de Chamonix”.
Protective, fluid, precise, comfortable and safe.
Proven resistance to wear.
Available in men’s and women’s versions.
Materials: Vibram sole and Gore-Tex membrane

- AMURI KNIT SHOE
Approach model that reinforces the current offer in Matryx (Amuri – upper made of nylon and Kevlar) and leather (Amuri Leather).
The Amuri Knit is ideal for the summer and in dry soil conditions, as the woven fabric ensures maximum comfort for use on rough terrain.
