20 May Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner bags her 12th 8000er

 
 
Today may 20th, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner topped out Lhotse (8.516 meters) and bagged her 12th 8000er. Gerlinde was together with  her husband Ralf Dujmovitz who completed his 14x8000ers list, Japanese Hirotaka Takeuchi and the German cameraman David Götller. 

At the moment, Edurne Pasaban and Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner have both climbed 12 8000ers, but the Basque hade  supplementary oxygen at Everest and – during the descente and for severe health problems –  at Kangchenjunga. To complete the 14 x 8000ers list, Edurne still needs Annapurna and Shisha Pangma; Gerlinde Everest  and K2; Nives Meroi  Kangchenjunga, Makalu and Annapurna
