29 Jun Arterencia 8b+ a super-route at La Pedriza

 
Aitor Bárez, born in 1976,  is a specialist of adherence estreme climbing, and sended many highly demanding routes of that kind in La Pedriza, which is  located just north of the village of Manzanares El Real.
 
Here the rock climbing is all about long granite slabs, which requires precise footwork and balance. The scope of the slab climbing is huge with a mixture of sports and traditional routes, ranging from single pitch to multi-pitch routes over 200m long across a wide grade range.  
 
Arterencia is a route on a dark line of rock and object of many attempts since the 90’s. Aitor Barez tried this itinerary  since the 2008 fall and send it last june.  He said those 35 meters (15 bolts) are the best route he never made before, “a true beauty”.
