02 Sep Italian access to Matterhorn banned

The Italian access to Matterhorn has been closed to climbers in reason of danger of  rock fall.
 It seems that high temperatures of the past few weeks can probably caused a melting of the permafrost that binds the rocks together in the area of Rifugio Carrel.
As a security measure, officials of Valtourenche decided to deny climbers access to the Matterhorn from Italian side.
