08 Nov 9th club: Bouyoud and Larrocha

Mathieu Bouyoud and Gonzalo Larrocha on their 9as.

Mathieu Bouyoud is for sure a well known guy. Thirty One years old, a family, a full time job and… He is 9a man! In the past, Mathieu tried Papichulo going really close to climb it, but then the Covid has stopped his travels. He put a post-it on the fridge to keep the motivation high and he trained really hard. Finally, in november 2021 he is back on his project, reaching the top of it: Papichulo, 9a+, is done!

Gonzalo Larrocha is a bit older, 37 years old, and has climbed a route by Chris Sharma. Before the lockdown, he started to try this route, struggling with the knee bars . Also for him, november 2021 has been a good month and he has finally climbed Catxasa, 9a+. With more than twenty routes 9a or harder, Gonzalo proposes the downgrade to 9a.
