9th club: Flor, Chuat and Diaz Rullo - Up-Climbing

9th club: Flor, Chuat and Diaz Rullo

9a achievements by Jonatan Flor, Dylan Chuat and Jorge Diaz Rullo.

The 9a club never sleeps and in fact our heroes are loaded with buckshot. Jonatan Flor if he does not make a 9a a day or almost gets too angry and in fact in Cuenca he continues to put on a show. The last extreme routes climbed by the Spaniard are Climbing Obsession (8c+/9a) and El Calvario de Sicario (8c+).

Jorge Diaz Rullo, known as one of the strongest climbers in the world, continues to flesh out his already extensive curriculum with ever new extreme pitches. Great repeater of classics, this time he has chosen a very famous pitch in Siurana: Estado Critico. Not happy, he also climbed Last Night shortly after, bringing the number of grade 9 pitches in his career to more than 50.

Last but not least, climber Dylan Chuat made his first ascent, freeing a new pitch bolted by none other than the very strong Samuel Ometz. The winner of the Swiss lead championship in 2020 and 2021 managed to tame this extreme line at St Triphon, calling it Un bel été and proposing the grade of 9a. Regarding the route, Chuat says it is really beautiful and complete, a new classic, with difficult movements and a courageous dyno. In his perception it could also be worth 9a +, but he prefers to keep in the good and opt for the solid grade.
