19 Jul Favresse – Training for Baffin in Raetikon
As his last bit of training before his expedition to Baffin Island, Nico Favresse climbed some multi-pitch routes in the Raetikon, Switzerland with Polish Adam Pustelnick.
The pair didn’t wait long to try the very famous route Silbergeier 8b+ 200m, masterpiece of Beat Kammerlander. And after some trouble with weather conditions and the route being partly wet, Nico managed a quick repeat of the route, 3rd day on the climb despite getting rained on the last pitch and very cold temperatures.
According to Nico the route is “exceptional” and the climbing “ultra technical just like at Freyr (his home cliff)”. “It is the prefect training for hard big wall free climbing” Nico add.
The route is about 200m long and consists of 6 pitches of the following difficulties. Thank you Beat Kammerlander for this amazing climb! The climb was fully equipped with fixed quick and tick marcksdraws.
