Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner: C4 - Up-Climbing

Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner: C4

The International K2 North Pillar Expedition of Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, also composed by Kazakh Maksut Zhumayev and Vassiliy Pivtsov, Gerlinde’s husband  Ralf Djumovits, Polish Darek Zaluski  and the Argentinean Tommy Heinrich continues the approach – from the North side – to the summit  of K2.

The team installed C4, the most advanced camp, spending two night between 7,800 and 8,000 meters. Maksut Zhumayev – on the site  Kazpatriot  –  said  that it took three days to get from C3 to C4, hampered by 50 cm of fresh snow.

Now all the members of the team are resting at the Chinese Base Camp, waiting for news on the weather condition, which as usual will be communicated by Charly Gabl from Innsbruck.
