ISFM Master World Championships 2022

The ISFM Master World Championships 2022 takes place in Piancavallo-Alpago ski resort (IT) from March 4 to 6.

International ski mountaineering will return to the snows of Piancavallo-Alpago after the World Championships held in 2017.

The first race on schedule is the Vertical Race on Friday 4 March. The athletes will compete along the same route of 2017, starting from Piancavallo and arriving at Rifugio Val dei Sas with 580 meters D+ and 3400 m of distance. The record time to beat is 24’06” set by Killian Jornet. For women the best performance is 28’45” of the Austrian Andrea Mayr.

On Sunday, 6 March, the Individual Race takes place, covering part of the Transcavallo route in the snows on the border between Friuli and Veneto. The route features highly spectacular parts such as the ascent to Tremol in the first part of the race and the ascent to the Cornor pyramid, which will be “conquered” from the east. The competitors will have to deal with 1800 m D+ and 14 km.
