25 May Jonatan Flor frees Picacho 9b
Jonatan Flor has climbed El Picacho, 9b first ascent in Rodellar.
We were waiting for the bomb and this is it. Jonatan Flor has freed El Picacho, the latest route born in Cueva de Alì Babà, world famous sector in Rodellar. The line is the latest bolted here and it is one of the hardest in the whole Spain. For this pearl bolted by Dani Andrada, Jonny proposes the 9b range.
“The last line I have climbed on Ali Baba, possibly not the route that has taken me the longest but without a doubt, the hardest I have climbed in its grade. I’m super happy to have made the first ascent of this incredible line, an old project of Dani Andrada that became a reality a few days ago.”
Few days ago he climbed Picacho Increible Total (9a/+ FA), one of the easier version of the line. Then he tried again the extreme route, thanks to better conditions and dry holds. The mega project is now done and it starts with an extreme boulder around 8B+. In his career, Jonatan has climbed almost fifty routes from 8c+/9a to 9b.
