The extraordinary ice saison 2008\09 allowed the complete making of a beautiful pillar near the Livigno’s lake (Central Alps. It was the first year that is recorded the whole formation of the column. The Alpine Guides Fabio Salini and Emanuel Panizza did not loose time: they crossed the iced lake and reached in two hours the base of the spectacular fre-standing of Stalattica, that climbed in one pitch of 60 meters. The thin conditions of the initial section of the column forced the two guides to a very light way of climbing.
