19 Aug Luca Zardini First repeat of The Search 8c+
"Canon" Luca Zardini, a former athlete of the Italian climbing national team, completed on Saturday, Aug. 8, the first repeat of The Search 8c + at the cliff of Capanna Bill Passo Fedaia – Dolomites.
So Zardini on his blog:
"The route is about 30 meters long, was bolted by Mario Prinoth and freed last fall. It runs at the right of the imposing wall called "Capanna Bill "for its proximity to the small hut .
I began to work the route in early June with a couple of good attempts just below the anchor, then the summer’s heat and little training in the following months have meant to come back in early August. Only last Saturday , thanks to a remarkable "grip ", I carried out the final move with great satisfaction and fun!
The climb, after a section on decent holds leading to a first anchor laying around the degree 7b, follows on a gray rock with very small holds, requiring great technical and resistance all for a pitch really intense and beautiful.
My sincere thanks to Mario for having accompanied me, and given the desire and inspiration for a new project of this beauty … and a dedication to Luke … "
