09 Jun 9a for Monchois and Le Cerf

Nao Monchois and Pierre Le Cerf have climbed their 9a projects.

Nao Monchois has taken a period of “rest” for testing the hard work done. After reaching the top ten in the lead world cup last year, he has big projects for 2021 and it seems that he is in a really good shape. In the mythical Ceuse crag he has climbed Pornographie, a well known 9a. Short, hard and intense, this is for sure a great route to test the shape before a competition. He tried the route some months ago, but then he has focused his training on the national team selections and nowadays he has back on the line, climbing his second 9a. The next appointments are the lead world cups in Innsbruck, Chamonix and Briancon.

Different situation for Pierre Le Cerf, who has established a new line. In his career, he has climbed almost ten lines between 9a and 9a+, and this one is his first FA. In Gorges du Loup, Pierre has freed a line bolted by Cedric Lo Piccolo, another great and strong french climber. It is the extension of Just on fix (8c+), that becomes really harder. The result is Just two fix and in Pierre’s opinion the range is 9a/+. This extreme line counts seventy moves and it is more than thirty meters long.
