Erhard Loretan dies in the Swiss Alps

 
On Aprile 28th, Swiss climber Erhard Loretan died in a climbing accident in the Swiss Alps on the day of his 52nd birthday.
 
Loretan was guiding  a client on the  ridge of the Gruenhorn, in the Bernese Alps. His client was hospitalized in serious conditions.
 
Loretan was born in Bulle, on 28th April 1959 and  began climbing at the age of 11.
In 13 years, he climbed all the 14x 8000ers, 3rd man after Messner and Kukuzka and 2nd in the world without suplementary O2.
 
In  1986 Loretan did an incredibly fast ascent of  Mount Everest, by night in only 40 hours.
