Nose, new speed record for Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell

Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell set a new record time on El Capitan’s Nose.

The news has just arrived that Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell – climber who can be said to have distinguished themselves in Yosemite – have set a new record of climbing the Nose on El Capitan. This route, that “common” climbers climb in more days has become the ground of comparison of a race of speed that has lasted for years.

Tommy and Alex then climbed the Nose in just 2 hours, 10 minutes and 15 seconds, beating the record held by Brad Gobright and Jim Reynolds by almost 10 minutes.

The last record was set only in October 2017 when Brad Gobright and Jim Reynolds climbed the Nose in 2h and 19 minutes and 44 seconds, beating the previous record that was set only in October 2017 when Brad Gobright and Jim Reynolds climbed Nose in 2h and 19 minutes and 44 seconds, beating Honnold’s previous record with Hans Florine.
