New route at Baffin Island

Spanish climbers  David Palmade "Pelut” and Josep Maria Esquirol carried out the first ascent of  a new route on never scaled peak at  Baffin Island in the Stewart Valley.
David Palmada "Pelut" is specialized in extreme aid climbing,last winter carried out the first winter ascent of  Vivencias en solitario’ al Naranjo de Bulnes.
Josep Maria Esquirol is versatile climber with experience on all terrains and many FA’s under his belt.
.Last winter both receveid a prize from the  Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada, Pelut  for Oyu Peligro – the first proposal for A6 +, and Esquirol  for  a solo winter ascent in one day of the three walls of Gavarnie.
Despite of the loneliness of the area, two teams were present  in Stewart Valley this spring: the British  Stuart McAleese, Mark Thomas and Mike Twido Turner for the route Arctic Monkeys and the two Spanish climbers.
The conditions faced by Palmade and Esquirol were very hard.
"In 40 days we were in Baffin Island, we only had sun for two days at base camp and two in the wall. For the rest, wind, snow and temperatures down to -20 º C … disgusting!. " Faithful to his direct style, David Palmade Pelut sums up his adventure.
The result of their adventure is Sensacions : C4, M6, 6c +, 60 ° 1.800/2.000
