21 Mar Ondra: fifth 8c+ onsight
Adam Ondra keeps going around in the Spanish crags and bags the fifth onsight 8c+ of his collection, Mind control, in Oliana.
According by David Gambus, the Basque climber who witnessed the ascent, Adam climbed in fluency, interpreting very quickly all the moves, "like he knew the route" and above all managing a very wet section, the same where Gambus, trying it dry, fell several times before the decisive round.
Talking with David Gambus, Ondra said that Mind control seemed to him the easiest of the 5 8c+ onsight recently sent and that he thinks it’s more likely a hard 8c.
Also in Oliana Adam tested, (prior permission), a project by Chris Sharma called Chaxiraxi whose difficulty should be around 9b. He solved the upper part, the most challenging, but did not chained it all because very wet.
