06 Oct Perou – new route on Ranrapalca

  
Ranrapalca 6162 m is one of the most breathtaking mountains of Peru´s Cordillera Blanca, in the Parque Nacional Huascaran.
Brothers Eloy and Octavio Salazar together with Eric Albino established the first itinerary on its south wall. The ascent was made in alpine style, in 29 hours, from and to BC.
The new route shows snow slopes at 50/60°, a very thin ridge, and overhanging sections on ice mushrooms .
The team rappelled from east side.
