The famous Pierra Menta ski mountaineering race, reaching this year its 31st edition, is taking place from March 9 to 12 in the Arêches-Beaufort resort, in the Savoie region (Rhône-Alpes, France). Four days and 10.000 meters D+ for this competition, which is valid for the Long Distance Team World Cup. The race is for the Senior category only. A shorter race will be held for young athletes on March 11 and 12. The first stage of the four-day competition is taking place on Wednesday 9 in Mirantin sector; the second, on Thursday 10, in the Roche Parstire sector; the third, on Friday 11, in the Légette du Grand Mont sector; the fourth and the most important, on Saturday 12, on the Grand Mont.
