02 Apr Interesting climbing news from Sicily

 
After the lucky “campaign” of November 2008, in March 2009 Maurizio Oviglia, together with Eugenio Pinotti, was again in Sicily and explored, climbed and equipped a new interesting section on the north wall of Monte Gallo, near Palermo.
The route (Fatti non foste per viver come bruti "Ye were not made to live like unto brutes..".)  is rated 6b/c and 215m long.
Stainless steel bolts also very spaced out, and rappel descent off the route.
Then, together with Rolando Larcher and Luca Giupponi, Oviglia climbed in 3 days a route named Kaos, 325 m of a strenuous and spectacular climbing on an exposed wall and fantastic rock. (7c max – 7a+ expo – bolts spaced out.)
