30 Sep Simon Gietl repeats “La Perla Preziosa” on Sass dla Crusc Dolomites

 
On August 2009 Italian climber Simon Gietl – member of alpine Xtrem Team of SALEWA  – repeated   "La Perla Preziosa" , the route established and redpointed  by  the Alpine Guides  Nicola Tondini, Michele Zandegiacomo and Nicola Sartori on 2008, over a two year period, on west wall of  Sass dla Crusc, Dolomites, Italy.
 
The route explores unclimbed terrain right between the ultra classic Diedro Mayerl and Via Messner al Grande Muro and was for Nicola Tondini – one of the foremost current activists in Dolomites – "the dream to make the first ascent on the legendary Sass dla Crusc in trad style".
 
Apart from 2 bolts on the 6th pitch, the route (375 m 8 pitches 7c+)  is  protected with trad gear and pegs only.
 
For Simon a great achievement!
