14 Nov Longing to ice climbing?
A nice video by the photographer John Dickey: Jesse Huey struggling with Real Big Drip WI6 M7, 200 m- a true test-piece of courage and technical skill in Ghost River, Alberta – Canada.
The route was opened between late 1998 and early 1999 by Dave Thomson, Kefira Allen, Eric Dumerac and Sean Isaac and in some seasons shows an overhanging mushroom (sometimes avoidable) of WI7.
" I hope to be able to climb the RBD every year – Huey wrote in his report on the Black Diamond website – "The exposure, difficulty and pure aesthetic make it one of my very favorite routes of all time. If you are up for the challenge, don’t think about it and just get on it. The RBD is the first climb you see when you get to the Ghost and every year it will call for you"
