Elias Iagnemma: first repeat of Ninja Skills sit

Another bomb in Ticino!

07 January 2022
The Italian boulderer is the first to repeat Keller's sit start of Hukkataival's masterpiece!

Ninja Skills, one of the hardest and most famous lines in Ticino. A line climbed in 2009 by Nalle Hukkataival in the small area of Sobrio and which became a must for top climbers, almost all of whom have passed from there in the following years.

Among these Martin Keller, who, after repeating the original line, started working on the sit start: a journey of about 150 sessions spread over 3 years, which led the Swiss to the success in March 2019 with the proposal of 8C/8C+ for this version.

Having remained unrepeated since then, Ninja Skills Sit Start now sees its second ascent with Elias Iagnemma, the Italian boulderer who has distinguished himself most often at very high levels in 2021 and who thus begins 2022 well!

Leaving for Ticino with Off The Wagon in mind, Elias was not at ease on the first movement and, also due to the extreme crowding under the boulder, he decided to move to other area in Ticino, visiting precisely also Sobrio. As he describes in his Instagram post, he immediately had a great feeling with Ninja Skills and, once he understood how to do the very hard sit start, it took him only four sessions to get the second ascent. In his opinion, a downgrade to 8C would be more appropriate, a numerical detail which is however not so relevant considering the hardness and beauty of this exceptional line!
