Addo Elephant Trail Run takes place on March 2 – 4, 2018.
Originally founded in 2005, the Addo Elephant Trail Run is South Africa’s oldest 100 Mile ultra trail race. The race track winds through the vast and beautiful Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Runners will visit some of the most remote wilderness in the Addo Elephant National Park, through areas they would not be able to access any other way.
Addo Elephant Trail Run offers a choice of 100 Mile, 76km or 44km distance ultra-trail runs:
- 100 Mile stats: 5640 meters (18504 ft) of climbing over 100 miles (161 kms) with an average 71% finish rate. This places it firmly among the more challenging 100 Mile courses in the world.
- 76 km Stats: 2630 meters (8629 ft) over 76 kilometers with an average 85% finish rate. The 76km route is a nice fast course but does pack a few challenging climbs.
- 44 km Stats: 1740 meters (5709 ft) over 44 kilometers with and average 97% finish rate. If you are looking for a race to pick as your first ultra distance race, the Addo 44 is a great option.
