Central Alps. First ski descent on Ghost Zebru

Königsspitze (or Gran Zebru), 3851m, is the most elegant peak of Ortles Cevedale Group, between Lombardia and Alto Adige region, north side of Italy.

The North wall was first ascended by a young Kurt Diemberger on 1956 and in this occasion he climbed the overhanging ice cornice.

On the south wall the normal route is very popular among ski alpinists. A relatively recent route is Ghost Zebrù, first ascended  by Maurizio Piccoli and in 1997 Davide Chiesa. The line runs between short section of steep ice and snow slopes up 50/55°

On may 10th, the Alpine Guide Giuliano Bordoni together with Paolo Marazzi did probably the first descente on ski of Ghost Zebru.
