Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, the photos of K2 attempt

Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner was rejected  once more from summiting  K2, that she already attempted three times  .

The Austrian mountaineer  and her husband Ralf Dujmovitz, which has already completed the 14x8000res – " started very convinced and confident,  together with Fabrizio Zangrilli, Fredrik Ericsson, Trey Cook and three Polish climbers.”

The first day they reached the camp at an altitude of 6300 m,following Cesen Route and they day the altitude of 7100. The third day, "though I knew the route very well, everything seemed different, with less ice, rocks, fragile and unstable sections of snow" – writes Kaltenbrunner –

Arrived very late at the bottom of the shoulder, they arranged a platform for the tent and wondered whether it was appropriate make an attempt to  the top without to rest. The wind – already strong –  has increased, so making  the decision  inevitable.

Photos, all of the web site of Kaltenbrunner – are eloquent! Now back safely at the BC, Gerlinde expects a new opportunity to try again the ascent to the top

With K2,   Kaltenbrunner’ll complete all 14 x 8000er and would become the first woman to climbed them without using supplementary O2.
