From Magic Wood to the Gotthard, the Swiss climber proves again to be in exceptional shape!

A few days after the ascent of the 8C of La Force Tranquille, with which he inaugurated the arrival of the hot season in Magic Wood, Giuliano Cameroni also inaugurated the summer season on the boulders of the Gotthard Pass, where we still find meters and meters of snow!!!

The strong climber from Ticino had in fact left here a project that he had already tried hard in past years: the sit start to Hazel Grace! In 2017 it was Giuliano himself who climbed the stand start, characterized by a hard line on a vague diagonal crack that he evaluated 8C, effectively creating what immediately became a classic of the high difficulty of this high altitude area. In the following years, with the various repetitions, Hazel Grace settled on a solid 8B+ but the sit start still remained to be climbed, which Cameroni tried for some time without success …

So he is back this year, on the first day of the season and surrounded by so much snow that makes an already very suggestive place even more surreal. It didn’t take long for him: he checked the moves, rested the necessary amount and sent the boulder on the first try, putting an end to another process that lasted for a long time! Giuliano announced the climb from his Instagram profile, declaring a difficulty of 8C or maybe even 8C+ and promising a video of the ascent soon.

The period of low gravity is continuing for Cameroni, who will now have to find new extreme projects for his skills!
