01 Jun Mateusz Haladaj: first 9a+ for Poland

The Polish climber Mateusz Haladaj closed his accounts with his 9a+ project, the first of his career, repeating the famous Papichulo at Oliana. He is also the first Polish climber to reach this grade.

"So happy to climb that Beast! Finally. 45 meter sustained climbing, seems to be my anti-style.Thanks to all for support and belay. Proud to be the first Pole on 9a+." 

Bolted and freed by Chris Sharma, it has several repetitions for his grade, including those of Magnus Midtboe, Domen Schkofitz, Joe Kinder, Sachi Amma, Ramonet and Adam Ondra, who was the first to repeat it.
