The American achieves his fifth boulder problem of this difficulty!
After some time without having any news of him, Matt Fultz is back in the best possible way, making his hardest first ascent and creating a new 8C+ monstrosity on the granite of the RMNP.
Brace of the Cure: this is the name he chose for this line on tiny and sharp crimps, where, as he himself describes in his IG post (in which we can also see the video), you need to have extreme precision in taking them correctly to set the next movements.
From 8a.nu we learn also that this new extreme boulder problem starts from the legendary Jade, then goes left on the crux section and then ends with a 7C+ single move. Already in 2020 Matt came very close to the climb while last year he had to give up after only one session due to an injury.
Returning this year after having trained specifically for this line, Fultz has managed to climb it, for an ascent that he also considers the second hardest among those he has made. And remember that, before Brace of the Cure, the American can boast four other 8C+ climbs, all of absolute reference: Sleepwalker, Hypnotized Minds, The Grand Illusion and Creature from The Black Lagoon.
A great return with one of the hardest problem in the States!
