The South-Korean female alpinist Oh Eun-sun summited GI today August 3 : she departed C3 at 7,200m at 01:15am and she topped out after 12 hours climbing without supplementary O2. Eun-sun is expected back in BC tomorrow.

She has now just Annapurna left to complete the 14x8000ers list : Miss Oh’s summited this year Kangchenjunga, Dhaulagiri, Nanga Parbat and GI and  is now on top of the female 14x8000ers race ranking, with only Annapurna to complete the list, where she plans an attempt for next fall.
 
The Austrian climber  Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner (12x8000ers) is currently on a summit push on K2.
