15 Dec Avalanche on Granm Sasso

An avalanche killed two alpinists, the mountain guide Pino Sabbatini, 51 years old, on Gran Sasso mountain during an ascent with his frien David Remigio, 44 years old.
Pino was a popular guide on Gran Sasso area and he was also a volunteer of National Mountain Rescue Team (CNSAS). From the reconstruction and the testimony of the person who gave the alarm, the two climbers were proceeding when a snow cornice came off investing them and two other people who were uninjured.
