Opened on 1972 by Frenchclimbers Bernard Bourcasse, Jacques Fouque, Michel Tanner, Bernard Vaucher, Marius Coquillat, Richard Jamin and  Henri Rigaud  La Castapiagne Rouge  is a seven pitches route: 6a, 7c+, 7c+, 7c, 8a, 7b, 7c+.
 
FFA  – except the roof (8a)  – was done on 1995 by  Jérôme Rochelle, first free ascent (integral) by  Bruno Clément (2005).
