Štěpán Volf joins 9th grade
First 9a for the Czech07 January 2021
Štěpán Volf has climbed Estado Critico, reaching 9a level.
As many climbers in this period, Volf has decided to spend his climbing holidays in Spain, a rock paradise. Good forecast and a great fitness have been enough for climb his first 9a, Estado Critico in Siurana. The route is a great classic, becoming famous due to the onsight ascent by Alex Megos back in 2013. The whole line is quite long, it has over 70 moves and it is really far from the usual Štěpán' style, who prefers boulders and short routes. Estado Critico has been a really testpiece for him, a huge mental and physical battle. Congrats!
