Alex Garriga climbs Climbing Obsession, new 9a at Cuenca
The beautiful climbs of the Spanish fort continue at "his" crag
10 December 2019Spanish Alex Garriga freed another route in his Cuenca doing Climbing Obsession, a line designed by Dani Andrada some time ago.
The marvelous, constant and well thought-out march of the young Spaniard Alex Garriga continues, who in the last few months has been proceeding in the best way, closing level routes to gain experience and, given the assumptions, he probably will soon be really big.
In fact, in Cuenca, Alex has this time solved Climbing Obsession, a chain designed by Daniel Andrada time ago but which no one had solved so far.
"The connection starts with the first initial part of Blomu, an 8c or 8c+ block quite hard. After an easy slab and another very special passage, we connect to the final part of El Calvario del Sicario, also 8c /+ which requires a bit of resistance."
The grade proposed by Garriga for Obsession is 9a and if confirmed, it would be for him the tenth pitch this year between 8c+ /9a and 9a+, reached in late September with the ascent of Ali Hulk Extension to Rodellar.
