IFSC postpones competitions scheduled for July
Still too many doubts related to the current covid situation28 April 2020
The IFSC, in agreement with the Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l'Escalade, the Swiss Alpine Clup and the local organizers, has decided to postpone the Lead comps scheduled for July.
These are the very classic Villars (SUI, 2-4 July), Chamonix (FRA, 11-13 July) and Briançon (FRA, 18-19 July), always among the most anticipated and followed of the season, with thousands of spectators present.
The deadline for the decision was set for May, 1st, but it was already clear for some time that it would have been very unlikely to play competitions correctly. In fact, French President Macron has extended the ban on large public events until at least mid-July and therefore, in addition to sporting events, a lot of events of all kinds have also been missed beyond the Alps.
The appointment with the Voronezh World Youth Championships (RUS) scheduled for August remains fixed for now.
