Jernej Kruder, first possible 9a+ in Croatia

At Vrulja climbs Dugi Rat

02 January 2019
Jernej Kruder after a long siege did Dugi Rat and proposes the 9a+ for what could be the hardest route in Croatia.

Four years have been used by the Slovenian ace Jernej Kruder to climb Dug Rat, a route he himself equipped in Vrulja, Croatia, and which he proposes as 9a+. If confirmed by the repeaters, it could be the most challenging pitch of Croatia and this cave that Kruder has been spiking together with local Ivan Kuvačić and Martin Bergant for some years. This is the second route of this grade, ascended by the Slovenian, who in 2015 had closed Massacrate in Golobove Pecine, but in Vrulja Jernej has also bolted an extremely demanding length that could be, from the first attempts, something close to 9b+. You will see, in the meantime, good work!
