From 0 to 8c in 15 months for Lee Kah-Jin, a new talent made in Korea
In less than a year and a half and only 12 years old climbs Greed at Tonsai Beach28 February 2020
Lee Kah-Jin, a 12-year-old Korean climber, has closed his first 8c, Greed, in Thailand.
Great performance for the young Lee Kah-Jin who in Thailand, in the famous Tonsai Beach, closed Greed, 8c/+.
Almost normal performance for a "strong" climber but surprising is the fact that Lee started climbing about 15 months ago and that he is 12 years old!
The story of this new Korean talent is that of many young people. Born climbing in the gym, he has known plastic almost exclusively for many months, reaching a level of "tenency" that will make many throw away their climbing shoes.
Merit seems to be largely of his coach Han Man-gyu who developed a method that seems rather profitable. "All students who come into the center for a career are trained for three to four months. The training method is only for six times a minute, with jawrest, pinch, pocket, and H.I.T training. After this course, endurance, interval training, and then running. The important training method is onsight exercises. New routes with 50 - 60 moves are being created every day."
