Loïc Zehani opens Teahupoo, new 9a in France

Short and hard route on simil Verdon rock

09 February 2020
Loïc Zehani made the first ascent of Teahupoo, a pitch in the south of France that evaluates to be a new 9a.

Another top performance for one of the major grade 9 climber on the French scene, Loïc Zehani, who in a small crag in the Apt area freed Teahupoo, a short and selective 9a route bolted by his father. The area doesn't offer much, says Loïc, apart from this length which, after a first section of fingers and a hard blocking movement, continues for a plate in pure Verdon style.
