Paige Claassen climbs Groove Train in the Grampians

Aesthetic and difficult 8c on Taipan Wall

28 May 2019
Visit to the Grampians for the American Paige Claassen where did the coveted Groove Train, 8c.

Transfer to Australia for the always strong Paige Claassen visited the symbolic place of Australian sport climbing, the famous Grampians, where at Taipan Wall climbed Groove Train, a demanding and aesthetic 8c pitch. This is the continuation of Groove 28 (Rich Heap, 1997) freed by Ben Cossey, a 50-meter line on orange-black compact rock.

"Groove Train has occupied a part of my head since I first saw it 8 years ago. A fantastic sandstone wall in a remote area with long runouts, how can you not love it? Today I gave shape to this dream and found something even greater than my expectations."

The trips around the world of this very strong climber then continue and after India, South Africa, China, Ecuador, Turkey, Norway and, let's not forget it, Italy, leaves its mark also in Australia. In October last year, Paige had also climbed her first 9a by repeating Jonathan Siegrist's Algorithm on the Discovery Wall.
