The high difficulty of the continent passes through the Blue Moutains

06 November 2018

Thomas O'Halloran makes the second ascent of Schweinebaumeln, 9a by Alex Megos in the Blue Mountains.

Climb of honor for the Australian Thomas O'Halloran who in the wonderful Blue Mountains realized the first repetition of Schweinebaumeln, ascended in 2015 by the German champion Alex Megos who had thus given Australia the second 9a overall.

"I climbed it at the fourth attempt this year after having already tried it in the past. I am very happy because I do not feel particularly fit in this period and having done this climb makes me think that I can still improve."

Thomas is not one of the climbers best known in Europe but in September 2016 he was the first Australian to climb a 9a freeing Baker's Dozen at The Pit, also in the Blue Mountains.
