Ondra bomb: two 9bs in few days

Extreme routes for Adam

29 December 2021
Adam Ondra frees Taurus and repeats Lonely Mountain, both 9b!

It seems that Adam Ondra has found quite a bit of power under the Christmas tree. We talked a few days ago about extreme FA in his home-areas and now he's back there with another bomb. His latest first ascent is Taurus, a route for very few climbers in the world. The route starts with a 8C+ boulder problem and then continues on an 8b route, which raises the grade like a huge cake, reaching the 9b "hard". It is very curious how, according to Ondra himself, the Czech climber had never taken so long to solve a single entry "problem". The route is located in Moravsky Kras and is just one of many extreme projects that remain in the area.

Just enough time to do the stuff in the backpack and Adam already had another goal in mind. Having moved to Arco di Trento, the testimonial Garda Trentino got his hands on an old project recently released. It is The Lonely Mountain and it is the last FA by Stefano Ghisolfi, who proposed the symbolic grade of 9b. More info coming soon!
