FA and 9b by Megos in Spain

Alex frees Kulebras gemelas and climbs La Capella

14 December 2021
Alex Megos frees Kulebras gemelas, proposing the grade of 9a, and repeats La Capella, 9b.

As Stefano Carnati well said in an interview, a climber leaves his mark when, in addition to repeating extreme pitches, he also promotes climbing by opening new routes. Alex Megos is certainly one of these, always ready to climb hard and to get involved on routes that are still difficult.

Opening new routes is the case of Kulebras gemelas, the last free pitch of the German climber in Spain. After repeating the extreme pitches of Bosi, Alex dedicated himself to an open project bolted by Jordi Pou. In short he managed to get to the head of this extreme line, which is short and violent in Margalef, for which he proposes the grade of 9a.

Not happy with the loot collected in recent days, Megos allowed himself yet another icing on the cake: La Capella. According to Alex, this 9b from Siurana is very hard, especially the undercling movement he brought back in the photo. He also promised a nice post in which he will give all the relevant info on the degrees in this sector.
