Wagner: how to climb 9a at 41

Roland climbs Baumwesen, 9a

03 March 2021
Roland Wagner has climbed Baumwesen (9a) at age 41.

The Austrian climber has put the hands on another hard route. This time we are talking about Baumwesen, a 9a route in Salzburger. He has spent a lot of days on the route, almost ,30, between two years. After the FA back in 2017 by Jakob Kronberger, the Roland's ascent is the first repetition. After the send of Sehnsuct (9a/9a+), he thought to climb it quickly, but it has been harder than thought. The funniest thing is that he hasn't climbed 9 grade routes before 2021 and nowadays he has already two names on the list. In his opinion these are the reasons behind the ascents:

Motivation/Obsession;

Hard structured multi-task training;

Injury-free;

Lucky with conditions;

Inspiration.
