2020 Ice Climbing World Cup-Changchun

The first leg of the World Cup is in China

The first leg of the 2020 Ice Climbing World Cup takes place from January 3 to 5.

Following events in Beijing (2017 and 2019) and Hohhot (2018), this is the fourth year in a row that China has hosted a UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup. In collaboration with the Chinese Mountaineering Association (CMA), the 2020 World Cup heads to Changchun City (Jilin province, China).

Friday 3 January

  • 10:30 opening ceremony
  • 12:00 qualification – women’s lead
  • 15:00 qualification – men’s lead

Saturday 4 January

  • 10:00 semi-final – lead
  • 15:30 qualification – speed

Sunday 5 January

  • 10:00 finals – speed (round of 16 and finals)
  • 13:15 finals – lead
  • +10 mins post competition – award
